Resources
For this lesson I explored several of the resources provided me.  The first was titled "How to start blogging".  This article discussed topics that students should be informed of before they start blogging.  Internet safety topics such as; not sharing personal info, how to be careful when posting images, not sharing passwords, don't agree to meet anyone, cyber bullying, etc.  The second article was "Why should I blog".  This resource explained how blogging can be used to get students excited about writing.  Students find the prospect of the whole world being able to read their writing is more exciting and motivating than just knowing only the teacher will read it.  This article also covers cyber safety as well the versatility of subjects that students can blog about.  The author gives a good example of how the blogging could be used to cover a math topic.  The article "Where Students Should Blog"   provides three good websites (Kid Blog, Weebly, and Blogger) that you can use for student blogging purposes.  The author also provides cheat cheats to assist the teacher in their use.  In the resource "My blogging voyage, and how I do it"  the author Rayna Freedman gives step by step instructions on how to start your classes blogging.  This resource will save teachers lots of time.  The last resource "Collabordependent writing with Google Slides".  This method allows students to "collabordependently", which is a method that uses Google Slides to enable students to collaborate and leave feedback for one another.

Value
At first I thought this lesson would have no value for me.  Since I am a math teacher, my students do not do much writing in class.  But then as I read the article "Why students should blog" the author gives an example in which a math teacher could have students pretend they are a geometric shape and describe their attributes.  This was a good idea and from this I have thought up other ideas that would work for blogging in a math class.  I feel that blogging could have some value in my class if I applied correctly.

Blogs to enhance and transform
As a math teacher I do not see myself using blogging on a consistent basis.  But I do believe in a project based learning situation this would be a great tool to use.  I also believe that I could use blogging as a way for students to give me feedback as we move from topic to topic. They also could track their own progress with this tool.

Other Thoughts
In conclusion I feel like student blogging is a good thing.  It naturally couples with some school subjects better than others.
